The Top of the Rock Observation Deck is the best way to see New York from high above the streets of NYC

The Rockefeller Center view of all of New York City and skyscrapers from mid-town Manhattan

The center of Manhattan puts the city in a more human perspective

We used The New York Pass to get our tickets to the Top of The Rock

Top of the Rock ticket 2015The views from the observation deck on the 67th floor somehow put the city in a more human perspective. Maybe it is because everything is NOT below you.  Some of the New York skyscrapers are at eye level.  The views at this mid-town location amongst the other towers are superb

We preferred this observation deck compared to the Empire State.  The movement through the ticket lines and to the elevators were much speedier.  The deck has 3 levels making the viewing more open and less crowded.  The deck guards were wonderful

Rockefeller Center's Tropicale plant and art display in the Channel Gardens offered a respite from touring and the heat of summer.  We were impressed with the giant dragon fly sculptures.  We relaxed at the Gardens before we continued on to see St. Patrick's Cathedral

Sorry, we included some Circle Line tour photos in error in this group
