Amazing Halo around the World Trade Centers Towers of Light at the Freedom Tower.  The 14th anniversary of the terrorist attack that killed almost 3,000 people in the US

As seen from Queens, the halo makes the light tribute seem miraculous. The light tower tribute has become a once a year event but it's future is uncertain.  The lights are extinguished at mid-night on 9/11.  The lights are not constant though, there are turned off periodically for a few minutes because migrating birds get "trapped" in them
