Arizona and the Desert Southwest became our favorite states
Emogene and Elaine Weeks decided to meet Helton and Dennis in Phoenix Arizona. One of Emogene's twin sisters lived it Phoenix. Mom and Elaine started the drive from Eau Claire Wisconsin on a March Tuesday. They were going to "beat" Helton and Dennis in a "race" to Phoenix by Thursday when Dennis and Helton would arrive by flight from New York, New York. Mom did indeed "beat" them by a few hours
Dennis and Helton visited Reta, Delores, Mom and Elaine in Phoenix for a day but then they were off on a three day Road Trip of the Four Corner States in the Desert Southwest.
It was a first short visit touring the four corner states, only three days. We were constantly on the road, enjoying all the vistas. We would later take similar road trips, two or three times, over the next 3 decades. Those trips were better at 5, 7 or even 10 days.
